Minister for Education and Science, Ms Mary Hanafin visited Sacred Heart School on Friday March 30th 2007 to present the Digital School Award to us for our success in integrating technology across the curriculum. Minister Hanafin was met the children from first to sixth classes. Ms Maura Conroy, School Principal welcomed Minister Hanafin on her visit to Sacred Heart School. Fr. Joe O'Neill welcomed the Minister on behalf of the Board of Management. The school band entertained the Minister with their rendition of Slievenamon and "It's a long way to Tipperary." The Minister presented the Digital Schools Award to the Principal, Ms Ryan and Mrs. Griffin, ICT Coordinators in Sacred Heart School. Mr Jim Enright, ICT Advisor said that Sacred Heart School was a "shining example of ICT integration in teaching and learning". Minister Hanafin then visited the school computer room where children from junior infants to sixth class demonstrated to her their skills and ICT activities.
